"Anti-aging, Anti-illness Factors"

There are too many stress factors in our life.  Aging, death and illness, are major ones. Modern lifestyle (excessive caffeine, smoking, drinking, drugs, bad nutrition, not enough sleep, too much work,  etc) causes many health problems.
Fortunately, in our nutrition , there are "anti-aging, anti-illness" factors, very beneficial for our body, mind and health.

We are talking about antioxidants. Here is a list of many antioxidants (and their nutritional sources).

Anthocyanins  (grapes and berries).

Beta-carotene and Vitamin A   (apricots, carrots, spinach and parsle, broccoli, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, kale, collards, cantaloupe, peaches.)

Flavonoids
(tea, green tea, citrus fruits, red wine, onion and apples.)

Isoflavonoids
(soybeans, tofu, lentils, peas and milk.)

Polyphenols
(thyme, oregano, red wine, green tea.)

Selenium
(seafood, offal, lean meat and whole grains.)

Vitamin C
(oranges, blackcurrants, kiwi fruit, mangoes, broccoli, spinach, capsicum and strawberries.citrus fruits, green peppers, broccoli, green leafy vegetables, strawberries, raw cabbage and potatoes.)

Vitamin E
(vegetable oils, avocados, nuts, seeds and whole grains.Important sources include wheat germ, nuts, seeds, whole grains, green leafy vegetables, vegetable oil and fish-liver oil.)

Zinc
(seafood, lean meat, milk and nuts.)

Co-Enzyme Q10

CLA   (beef and dairy fats.)

Lignans
(sesame seeds, bran, whole grains and vegetables.)

Copper
(seafood, lean meat, milk and nuts.)

Cryptoxanthins
  (red capsicum, pumpkin and mangoes.)

Lutein
  (spinach, and corn.)

But...
here are the facts:

  1. The top soil over most of the land used to grow fruits and vegetables is very depleted. This in turn produces crops that are severely low in the necessary vitamins mineral and antioxidants that our bodies need for optimum health.

  2. Foods, fruits and vegetables, are excellent sources for antioxidants. When food is processed, canned or cooked, antioxidants are destoyed. Supplementation with antioxidants replaces those lost in cooking.

So how can you get the necessary antioxidants?... more details here and here
